Very well done, Young. I think often of John 17 right now. Praying for our country and for believers to show one another kindness in this time of stress. In counseling we remind people that eustress is still stress. And that change equals loss. Good article and well stated. Bless you, Brother Young, and I pray for your congregation and for all those in our community.
You’re welcome, Young. Ultimately as His children we need to find unity in Him, in His Word and the truth He represents. Political systems won’t provide this. I appreciated you mentioning it’s good to check on one another, and humility and compassion will serve us well.
I think it's important to note that although the president-elect is Trump at this point, the numbers of people that voted for him include the following, not just white Evangelical voters.
"It wasn't just white, non-Hispanic evangelicals supporting Trump. So did about just over half of Latino evangelicals and about 6 in 10 white Catholics, according to AP VoteCast. Overall, about 6 in 10 Mormons also backed the former president." From pbs.org accessed 11.9.24
Good additional detail, Jody. Thank you for sharing that.
Whether White, Latino, Asian, African-American, or any ethnic group that is also Evangelical, the same principles that I have written applies. Which I'm sure you'd agree on.
Amen, Jesus must be our center and source. Thank you. (I neglected to add the source of the quote b/c I hit 'enter' too quickly; notes are now added. Thanks.)
I would go even further and challenge the winning side to demonstrate the validity in their choice. As you stated, clinging to Christ should lead them to exemplify the very values and morals they passionately felt required their vote in order to uphold and disseminate.
I think many of us - whether leftist, centrists, or even people who are more on the right - will be waiting to see if voters for Trump will be able to validate the majority of his decisions. It will be an interesting four years of observation!

Thank you for the encouragement and the agreement here, Susan.
Let us continue to spur one another to good works, for the sake of our neighbor and for God's glory, regardless of who we voted for.

This is amazing, thank you!
Thank you so much for the kind words, Dre!
