Watching this documentary was gut-wrenching. I was happy to see former cult members speak out, but I still feel so bad for Melanie and Miranda. Hoping Miranda and her husband can see the light sooner than later!

I feel terrible for their family as well. It's wild to see they are from Michigan (I live here in Michigan too). You just never know what people are going through...

What got me good in this documentary was how the cult leader is Korean. As a fellow Korean-American myself, it just stresses me out even more that so many global cults and local cults come from South Korea or are led by Korean people. I don't know what it is about my people that we want to be at the center of power and control.

The. Hutch I attend has, in the past, been accused of being a cult. The truth is that it was full of young former hippies (myself included) who required a strong hand of discipleship to dispel the idiot ideas accumulated along the way. As the congregation aged, the strong hand was replaced by a gentle one. The pastor today is the same one from the beginning and has got a whole new set of problems now that the congregation has become a multi-national church filled with immigrants from everywhere.
